The authors thoughts on modern pueblos sometimes feels a bit intruding. He clearly wishes they were more forthcoming in the divulging of information. Past that though, the tales of the first entradas and Oñate’s expedition are great reads. I feel somewhat inclined to learn more about the expeditions, since there is a lot of interesting details skipped for brevity.

To my fans:

I picked this book up while traversing the many shops Santa Fe has to offer. As a highly educated, and intelligent individual, I thought I would read this book to tickle my understanding of the Pueblos in New Mexico and the story leading up to their revolt. So far, the book is quite excellent and has lots of big words 👍

To my followers:

I deeply apologize for the lack of updates this past month or so. I have not been reading much but I realize this is no excuse. I pledge to be more engaged in our little community going forward, whether I am reading or not. I know how deeply you care for the comments I leave and the statuses I provide so I am taking this shift very seriously.

Up until this point in the novel the story has been fairly tame, sometimes broaching subjects involving race from the perspective of Tom, whose main ambition is keeping himself and his father afloat in a world that constantly degrades their existence. This is done very well and manages to maintain a lovecraftian eeriness throughout.
