Insane how relevant this still is

The group’s goals and dynamic is also interesting. Not sure how to pinpoint it but moments of working alongside while also protesting the government (in the story) is pretty interesting. Just something I haven’t seen in a book really. Usually it’s a hard for or against. But this feels far more real by being messier

It just keeps getting better for me. It’s not so much a story as it is a journey that I completely feel a lot of people won’t understand or enjoy. She emphasizes very much this book “shouldn’t exist”. It’s a journal and collection of thoughts and short stories and experiences that I couldn’t tell you in words WHY it works. I think it just will or won’t depending on the reader. Excellent work of art

Phenomenal art. Mixed media. Amazing panel play. There’s so much going on in each panel and how they interact as a whole piece. She’s really a master at the sequential art aspect. You don’t see this enough. And in an autobiography?? It’s also so surreal and weird I love it

I love short chapters and MAN I’m loving this book

Pace picking up. Very descriptive which sometimes makes it feel slow but generally really adds to the scene. Especially if you have some knowledge of comic history and culture

Faces chapter was more interesting - though could’ve used some visuals to help. Really got this book to try and help me understand people better but the scientific distilling of it all makes it feel way more complicated than my original method of just guessing and hoping I got it right :) still cool to keep it tucked in the back somewhere

Entire first chapter was kinda simple. Skipped a lot of it after the halfway point cuz it just felt to over explain a lot of generic things about appearances and it wasn’t heading anywhere. Just saying what different choices may say about you - all of which were deliberate choices you make. Nothing groundbreaking
