I just noticed that because I was on Instagram and followed and interacted with a lot of authors, I always gave them higher ratings than I felt was actually due. But I don’t want to lie to myself or others. I think Goodreads, safe to say, is a space for readers and not authors. So therefore, I changed most of my ratings just now, so as not to lead on people who might want to read these books.

This book is a little disappointing for something that I was really looking forward to. But on the other hand, it’s making me want to read The Divine Comedy, so I have something else to look forward to after I finish this.

I could be drawn into a story and taken right out of it when the inner dialogue is pushing feminism on me. It’s not the place nor time🤦🏻‍♀️

Magicians are known to cause separation between husband and wife. One of their many ways to cause this is lack in intimacy.

It’s evident the author did her research into the actual practice of black magic. Especially the ritual of knotting/blowing in knots.

It’s even warned about in the Quran: "and from the evil of the blowers in knots" (113:4)

Funny enough is this same surah also used in Ruqyah, which undoes this magic.

The tension in this book is so well written. And it’s third person😩🤌🏼 Perfection.
