This feels like its a Morgana retelling but verdict is still out

Idk if I’ll finish this. It’s too depressing

So excited to read!

“There’s no way I could afford that.” “I’ll give you the pathetic-American discount.”

This book is so bad 😭

End of ch 8 - this book is getting more and more depressing and less and less fun to read

(Finished ch 4) So far this is such a strange book but I really like the writing. It’s one of those books that feel like watching a moving rather reading because the descriptions are so vivid. I am definitely intrigued to see where this goes, because so far I have not been able to predict any of it 😂

“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”

I am upset that I knowingly started this book 2 weeks before the release of the second book. Like why didn’t I just wait so I could binge read them together???

Man hits on woman at his dead wife’s memorial

The second book made me tear up. Definitely have a soft spot for stories about dogs

The world building/magic system is pretty simple, so it’s easy to follow and the setup isn’t too tedious. I found the writing engaging and fun to read. As a first book of a series, this was a solid setup and I look forward to reading the next book. 3.9/5

I would be mortified if my mother tried to kill my lover while he was fingering me in the forest and yet in this book it becomes a bonding moment

This actually so painful to read

I’m sorry, but who writes spiteful emails + addresses them + keeps them in drafts??? If you’re going to write secret hate mail, don’t fill out the “to” section 🤦🏻‍♀️

Painfully boring. Not sure if I’ll be able to finish it

Rereading because my neighbor peer pressured me into it :P

I’m currently reading 4 other books, but I’ve decided that I need to read this one instead lol
