Bryce just went Kill Bill on his ass.

“You see everything I am, and you don’t run away from it.” 😫😭

Fury is kinda sus

Let someone in, give them the power to hurt you and they’d do exactly that in the end.

“I like seeing you in my shirt.”

WHAT’S WITH SJM AND LAVENDER SOAP!!!!

“No one likes a narc, Athalar.”
“I am a narc.”
“Could’ve fooled me, Shadow of Death.”

“Yeah, and I’m the seventh Asteri.” 👀

Bryce gave a small smile at that. Hunt grinned. Seeing her smile was like seeing the sun after days of rain.

“Would you like me to yell, Bryce Quinlan?”

Their tension is off the charts.

Hunt just held Bryce’s stare. “I see you, Quinlan. And I like all of it.”
“Right back at you,” her half smile seemed to say.

I really love how Juniper was carefully described as plant based. Vegetable oil only, plant based cheese, not eating animal products.

And then Hunt asked permission to eat in front of her.

To some this wouldn’t matter, but it makes me feel really seen. 🥺

She even had proof of his freedom certified. No one can ever buy him again. But he’s got the free brand on his front right paw.

Bryce 😫❤️‍🔥

This whole part at the “meat market” is reminding me of Red Rising in the slums. The statute with the scythe and Memento Mori saying. The Republic.

Which is probably why I’m liking it.

I’m surprised how hooked I am already. Flipping back and forth between audio & kindle.

Hunt’s real name is Orion

“Where’s your coat?”
“I didn’t bring one.”
“It’s barely spring.”
“Then it’s a good thing I have my alcohol sweater on, isn’t it?”

😂

Oh god. The graphic audio isn’t good when you have to hear the audio of *** pleading before dying 😩😩

Connor and Danika ❤️‍🩹🥺

I’m five minutes in and the word “virgin” has been said at least 20 times.

“Hello, Bartholomew.”

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I’d know that face anywhere. In wakefulness or in dreams, in daylight or moonlight—in life or death—I’d know it.
Rory.

😭😭😭

“A martyr might yet defeat tyrant, but none shall overthrow a god without becoming one themselves.”

“You should’ve killed me too.”
“You’re already dead, Six. That’s what makes you so special.”

“Who’s there?”
“Who do you think, Benji?”
