All the reviews like “this perfectly captures a stress dream” idk why you’re having stress dreams where you’re god and everyone loves you but I just had one where my bedroom was infested with crabs and they came down from my ceiling like spiders

More books should abandon plot and characterization and setting for a series of nonsense vignettes describing a conflict I don’t understand or care about this is really awesome

My favorite thing about this book is that it abandons the characters and conflict from the first installment, in favor of a vaguely Irish training montage in a parallel universe. That’s awesome more books should do that.

The orders of magnitude difference in stakes being treated as exactly the same is killing me. Like “it’s, politically speaking, very important that I win this horse race against my classmate” vs “I’m a farmer now :)” vs “I need to incite mass murder to prevent the apocalypse.” Only one of these things is actually important and it’s the one I’m bored to death by…
