I'm plodding through this one between other books. It reads like a history text so--while an above average history text--lacks the compulsive readability of the ASOIAF and Dunk & Egg books.

I started House of Sky and Breath and realized I'd forgotten too much of Earth and Blood so I'm listening again on 1.3 speed. This book really is great.

This is excellent. Still I can only read a little at a time because I loathe these people.

I'm having so much trouble with this book. I'm going to finish it and there are tons of funny zingers but the way the characters interact is so horrid and abusive. I want to laugh at the antagonism and "pranks" the MCs play on each other but it feels more like bullying and cruelty. I'm hoping things turn around and there is some serious reckoning and therapy in prayer chapters

Allison is reading Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America
This book is *OUTSTANDING*!!!!!! Having lost my son's father to an overdose a year and a half ago the subject is still very raw. The author does an amazing job of weaving the nuts and bolts of the epidemic's history (Oxycontin, corrupt pharma) with the stories of dealers, addicts and families torn apart by the disease. I highly recommend this book
