This book is a memoir or like an account of her life but….it reads like sci fi because this situation is so unimaginable for me. I’m captivated and empathetic and horrified

This book’s plot is like if a middle aged woman gave into all of her intrusive thoughts. Everything is so vulnerably mundane yet wild. I don’t even know how to explain it. But it’s like commenting on the banality of daily life if you don’t follow your wildest dreams or thoughts every now and then.

Ok so she’s been pretending to be her brother for 20 years but I can’t tell if she’s into her boy bestie from monk school or into the girl whose freedom to be she envies.
