Writing style is still nice but the book is just aight.

Pretty good so far, and fast-paced. I thought it was going to be a ghost story, but now it doesn't seem like it will be

I wasn't expecting this book to be top-tier fantasy, but I was at least expecting it to be decent. It's not. To put it nicely this book is boring and I am thoroughly disappointed. There is no suspense, despite the theme of being that one of the main characters has to die in the end. There is no tension, despite there being a love triangle. There is simply no excitement. Should I keep reading to see if it gets better?

I wasn't expecting this book to be top tier fantasy, however, I expected it to be at least mildly interesting. I may be overly critical, but this book is boring. The writing is bland, and the books whole existence radiates "meh" energy. I'm almost halfway through the book, and I am not enthralled. I do not feel the need to continue reading this book. But, I will read on with hopes that it gets better.

I'm rereading it to see if i still like it so much. And also, using it to try annotating a book for the first time. It feels controversial to be writing in a book, but the booktok muses do it, and so will I. (I will absolutely not be trying it on my books with pretty covers 😾)
