This book is spectacular, not just topically but in the approach to tackling the genre of alternate history. It’s a history of a fictional socio-political project, like what if Khruschev was Dengist. That’s incredible, I love it. What if someone made something on the creation of a competent state in 1930s Argentina or even post-Shah Iranian liberalism. The world is your oyster!

A Goodreads update on gravity’s rainbow is like a reward. I have bookmarks set for my next one.

William Walker just declared that the Costa Rican counteroffensive is anti-white racism and wrote to Britain promising that he would serve as a bulwark against American national security interests. If he was born 180 years later, he’d have had one of those right-wing podcasts that gets a monthly check from RT.

Kind of a weird read but consistent with Thiel’s general propensity to pour cold water on hype. Hope the book gets more provocative by the end though, I’m wondering why this book gets credited with Giraud memetic desire stuff because it’s not clear yet.
