A fun version of the cozy fantasy that feels a little more LitRPG than some of the others, but is equally delightful.

These books are just what my nervous system needs right now - lovely, decent human beings just living their lives and focusing on small victories.

The way that Hill so casually walks us through what must have been a traumatizing and rough childhood is shocking. I'm incredibly fascinated by how she is able to discuss her past so frankly and without any sentimentality.

Didn’t like audio, but the library has it, so I’ll try it in print. On paper, I should love this, but I’m unsure!

The audio of this book is perfect. The fact she sings so many of her songs is amazing and I can’t imagine reading this. It belongs on audio

This book is SO snarky - it’s totally unnecessary, but I also love it.

But I’m always curious about fictional and non fictional histories of the PNW, and terms of this, I am enjoying it.

This feels more scattered than the previous book (as well it should - plants are a broader category), but still good

Octavia Bulter's books deliver all that they promise and more, and this book has me utterly captivated.
