That damn Covenant!!

This metal virus makes for a really interesting conflict. That issue with Cream and the Chao was just... so heart breaking.

So crazy to read a child using military speak. Even crazier to read him maiming and killing a small group of four ODSTs; those dudes walked up like hostile NPCs in a Yakuza game what the hell. So antagonizing right away.

I tried reading Fall of Reach back during quarantine and I got through most of it before it had to be returned; things are coming back to me as I keep reading.

Been a Sonic fan for as long as I can remember... Glad to finally be reading some of the comics. Skipped the Archie comics for now, but I may go back to them in the future. From what I've heard about Ken Penders, Archie comics seem to not be worth my time as much as these IDW issues.

I'm so frustrated by Agamemnon, and a bit by Achilles too. It's a shame their dick-measuring contest is costing the lives of so many men.

The animals in this book are so fun!!

I love how this guy connects with cats so easily. Morrison's assertion about the way cats are named (being named after food, physical characteristics, or gods) is so true. I mean, how many people name their cats Luna???

Can't wait to see where this goes. I'm finding this easy to read and I am itching to read more!

I want to like the main character more but she can be a little annoying. Enough with the astrology!!!!

I'm digging this author's writing style, which is surprising considering this is translated from Polish. So the translator did well in making this readable yet distinct writing style for English-reading audiences.

I like how the MC refers to people with her own nicknames for them. She's quite a silly character.

Interesting and grotesque, but not very scary. I like body horror but it takes a lot to gross me out so I'm still waiting to be properly disgusted.

Now that the main characters are in their 30s I’ve found them to be more bearable. Dexter is finally seeing the consequences of his actions (the way he’s treated his exes poorly, or really any attractive woman he’s come across). Dude has got mommy issues I fear. He needs a woman to make him feel good about himself.

Trying to look at the things this book does right… the romantic conflict is that the two characters aren’t interested in each other at the same time. This is a much better trope than the miscommunication trope that feels easily solvable. This conflict is more interesting to read, even if I don’t care much at all for the male love interest.

Not a fan of the voice of the audiobook reader; it's making this a bit harder to like.

I'm finding Dexter quite unlikable too. Not quite sure what Emma sees in him, perhaps his free spirit?

I'm enjoying this. The descriptions of victim psychology, as opposed to the psychology of the perpetrator as is often the case, help this book stand out.

Reading this for a book club at work. I'll be leading the book club's March meeting so I'm preparing by attending the February one.

The writing style in this novel is certainly strange; I guess that's why they call it literary fiction. I'm not far into it but so far I'm not particularly drawn to it. We'll see how this goes.

Reading this for my Reading Interests class in library school. We're on the Mystery/Thriller genre. Lots of dark themes here; child abduction and death, the trauma of growing up in foster care, etc. The main character is a cop whose life has very recently fallen apart and is now trying to pick up the pieces while another young girl goes missing. Seems like the MC is holding out on us with some important info.

There’s a lot of going back and forth between the story and the notes section at the back for added context. I’m personally a huge fan of modern Japanese history so this is right up my alley.

I appreciate the shifts between Mizuki’s autobiographical chapters and the history-oriented ones. We get the story of a changing nation and people from the individual’s perspective and the historical one.
