I am enjoying this book but I get bogged down by the massive amounts of internal dialog. It takes a long time for something to actually happen.

This is not a dark book. I find the use of that word to be false in most cases. There are some heartwarming parts but they are so unbelievable it's hard to enjoy them.

I'm hoping not to dnf.

I'm rapidly losing interest. It feels like we're missing way too many pieces of the puzzle. I bought it on Audible so I'll probably finish this book but I doubt I'll read the others.

The MCs are estranged in the beginning and it takes until 30% for them to interact. I don't know if I'll finish it. It's really boring and I skipped ahead to find out when the reunite. I don't know about this one.

I wish I could fast forward through the spicy scenes. Don't get me wrong. I do like spice, but I could get by with two or three scenes a book I think. I like the interactions between the characters that progress the plot.

I hate books where half the story is one of the MCs tries to hide something from the other. It's such a lazy storyline. Yep. This is one of them. Of course I bought it on Audible so I have to finish it or I'll regret buying it.

Spoiler: I should have put this in my first update. The fmc gets out of captivity and decides she doesn't want to model anymore but she still wants attention so she goes into stripping. Only, she does it four hours away from where she lived when she modeled. You know, so no one would recognize her. :/ And she is far too nice to her ex and her best friend who got together and stayed together when she got back.

I am waiting for it to get good. I've dnf'd a lot lately and since I bought it on Audible I really want to finish it. All of her books except Still Beating have been duds. I need this to be good.

Why are the ads so much better than the book? The mfc is a virgin. I hate that. And the scenario in the ad happens but mfc saves her from all the fun. Then pretends he doesn't want her. I hate the tr[pe where the woman chases the man. This is not nearly as good as I thought it would be.

When is it going to get interesting? So boring. I'm about to dnf. Why is it so hard to find a good book!?

I'm really enjoying this book. It's fast paced and HOT.

My biggest complaint for any book is excessive inner dialog. While I'm enjoying this book, it feels like it's 90% inner dialog and 10% actual interactions/happenings. It's getting more and more difficult to read. And right now they're both lying to each other so it really feels like a misunderstanding trope, which I HATE. I wish authors would indicate if it's a slow burn in the blurb.

I'm having a hard time getting through this second book. I'm of the opinion that most books don't need a sequel and it usually means there's a lot of filler in the story. In this case it's a lot of repetitive inner dialog. I do want to know what happens but I'm now at the point where I'm skimming to find out.

It's just gotten so much worse. I can't stress enough that the story is told by what you leave out as much as what you add in.

I'm liking this book mostly but there is something I don't like about it.

When things are bad for a mc they don't tell the other that. They try to be brave and hide that. In this book she tells the mmc that things are worse than she is letting on and she has a lot of trauma. It would be more appealing if everything weren't spelled out. Keep it subtle and intriguing.

I like smut as much as the next gal but this is too much. Not enough plot. The book has 200 more pages and I feel like I'm slogging through. I may already be ready to dnf, which is so sad because I thoroughly enjoyed the last two books in the series.

This is so tedious. I want to finish but it's soooooo slow. I don't think it's a slow burn. I think it's just drawing it all out too much. We get it. He's horrible and she suffers. But we don't need to see 155 scenes of it to get the point. And the background about this secret society is beyond boring. I hate to dnf at this point but if it doesn't pick up soon, I'm going to have to.

I like this but it is so slow. I'm having trouble focusing and I keep avoiding reading because I'm bored. But I want to know how it ends so here's to hoping it picks up soon

I have really enjoyed this so far but then I suspected that there would be a large gap of time that the mc's would be apart and it turns out I'm right. I HATE that in a book. Now I'm having to force myself to read it.

I really like it but I keep getting thrown out of the story by the use of cunt in talking about a woman's genitals. I can call someone a cunt all day but I hate it when it's used instead of vagina or pussy. I looked it up and I think the word is used almost 100 times in the book.

This is fantasy, which means the rules are different but it's pretty outlandish that the mother cuts off her foot and then sews it back on, she doesn't use magic so it seems like the rules would be that same as in the real world. Not sure if I'm going to make it through this one.

Wow. I haven't been sucked into a book this fast forever. I started this a few hours ago and I can't put it down. It's midnight and I'm finally eating dinner. Love this. Hope it keeps up the momentum.

DNF

I liked the first book. I'm having trouble withe 2nd because it's almost all internal dialog. I'm close to looking at the ending dnf'ing the book. I hate internal dialog. I need action. Not action as in a "Fast and Furious" way. I just mean things actually happening rather than thoughts.

I'm about to dnf this book. Almost everything written is internal thoughts. There is almost no action and what action there is isn't very interesting. I'm disappointed. I've like other books by Selena and liked them.

I got into this quickly but I'm getting stuck. Anytime there is info to be revealed, the author delays it by going into detail about going to a restaurant, sitting down, getting water from the waiter, ordering food, and on and on. They are lame attempts to draw out the story and it's gotten tedious. I'm at the point where I'm just irritated and I don't know if I can finish w/out getting pissed for wasting my time.

This started out like a normal enemies to lovers but instead of a few bad deeds done to each other it just goes on and on. I'm ready for it to be over. Any other book would be have them in love already. Every time one of them does something mean, I groan because now I have to slog through more drama.

I'm enjoying it. It was recommended as a book where the h was really shy and innocent and somewhat "young" due to difficult life experiences and therefore she needs a daddy. In truth, she is sassy and strong, which aren't bad at all but just not really what I was looking for this time. It's not the book's fault that I'm a little disappointed. I'm still going to finish it.
