I know it's basically a direct LotR rip-off, but I'm still looking forward to diving into the full series and seeing how it branches off into its own thing.

Trying an audiobook re-read of these with a few friends, we'll see how it goes!

There is a "brush with death" joke that literally made me laugh out loud

This book is really good, a ton of information, but it's been a slog to get through. The audiobook is actually helping, Lepore tries to be super engaging, but man the material is like reading a textbook.

Zooming through this on my third read but there is still so much I keep discovering for the first time. Erikson really is a master. I should be finishing this tomorrow

Doing a full re-read with the Kevin R. Free audiobooks so I can fully enjoy the latest one. It helps that I am not so anti-short books now!

The Malazan comparisons are no joke. It's dense, and definitely dark, but I can't put it down. Plan is to finish this tomorrow and then order the next 2 books next pay day.

The whole Bilbo meeting the Dwarves scene remains undefeated. What a banger way to introduce a story. More stories should do the "surprise, the wizard lied and brought us together" bit

The yearly re read begins

This is fascinating, I can hardly put it down. Woke up at 4:30 to try to get close to finishing before work.

Real WW2 sicko hours

This has to be the least self aware book I have ever read. Lots of unsurprising details about how awful the people behind Facebook are, but the author so far is trying to act like she didn't play a key role in all of it! We'll see if that changes

I read these years ago, way before I started logging my books, and remember them being bangers. Time to refresh my memory!

Stopping this for now until my MMPB copy comes in. I'm enjoying it, I just want the physical copy in my hands!

Almost 200 pages in and I've yet to consider my phlebas, will report back when it's done.

That's right baby, a third read-through in less than 2 years. That's how much I love this series.
