Last book I'll read before graduating High School! You'll find me studying all day all night in the next 12 days for my Esame di Maturità (🇮🇹), and, while I could still read a little bit, I'm too anxious to even attempt. I might be inactive for the entirety of June but I'm going to be back stronger than ever in July!

CAN GRETCHEN STOP?? It's not just the fact that she's so out of the world and feels morally superior, it's how she constantly puts down Imogen knowing she's the TOP 1 overthinker of the universe. Can somebody tell her it's really not that deep?? PLEASE

I can't really say I'm enjoying this book, I feel like I can already predict what will happen next and I'm overall a bit bored. I'll continue reading in hope Hani will eventually drop those racist "friends" she keeps defending! One thing I can't get over with is how similar the different POVs are, I shouldn't notice they were written by the same person :(

I still need to make up my mind about this book, but I fear it's not looking too good.
It's quite hard not to compare it with other pieces of historical fiction or novels based on greek mithology, such as the works of Valerio Massimo Manfredi, that I deeply enjoy. I'm going to give it a chance, I'll keep you updated.

I truly am curious to continue this story, though the writing style seems a bit too amateur for my liking. For example, the fact that Monique had to wait 30 mins for Evelyn to start telling her story, just to be escorted out of her home as 'it was getting late' is just poor writing and can't be excused by how unconfortable the question was, since she had previously dodged some inconvenient questions with dexterity .
