I hope that in the succeeding books, an editor is hired to polish it, to make it more cohesive, and reduce the ramblings.

The premise of this series is intriguing enough that I may continue reading it.

Ehh, I have a bad record on series though.

Author tries hard to be poetic but falls flat.

"But the traitorous tear that falls from my eye tells a different story as it lands on my lip. It brines my happiness and rinses the smile away, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth."

I thought brine is only associated with food.

On top of it, too many sentences starts with conjunction words.

Later, she would wonder why she opened the door. Was it bravado? Stupidity? Being rid of him sounded awfully good, though. Even if she should have known better.

I vote for STUPIDITY.

"So, you want me to wait on the beach for this luska thing to show up to eat me, and I kill it with my bare hands, or at least injure it enough while it's eating me so that it doesn't come back?"

"That would be most helpful."

The last 25% of this book is getting a lot creepy.
