It’s frustrating to watch her throw away a chance at inciting change.
It doesn’t feel like she’s the main character, but rather a side character thrust into the role of a main character. Things happen to her, she’s literally told how to help, and yet she chooses to do nothing. She waffles endlessly and never moves the plot forward.
She’s in the perfect position to spy and, instead, she mopes.

I just don’t think Collin is a bad guy. I don’t believe it.

I hate to say it, but I’m bored.
Last book and this one are essentially the same book in a different location.
After how interesting and engaging the first book was, I’m really disappointed.

Just start a fashion line. It’s easy.

I don’t enjoy the way Jack just lets Lucy push him over. Don’t just let her yell at you then say he should be thanking her.
You can thank a person for what they did for you while also telling them that they can’t talk to you that way.

I already know I’m going to give this book a low rating sadly.
There’s not much redeeming it. Lucy jumps to conclusions constantly and is stubbornly set in that mindset despite having no evidence of that being true.
She’s rude and self-centered. I don’t think she’s apologized or asked how her friends are doing once.

Girl needs to learn how to listen. And her friends are interchangeable, I literally can’t tell them apart.

This book is exceptionally long without needing to be that long.

“What if I want more from Cam and he isn’t willing to give it to me?” I asked. “What if I want to write this book and no one wants to read it?”

Such statements refer solely to the emotion. The emotion, considered by itself, cant b in agreement or disagreement w Reason. [ie completely irrational]: it doesnt rise even to the dignity of error. On this view, the world of facts, without one trace of value, & the world of feelings, without one trace of truth or falsehood, justice or injustice, confront one another, & no rapprochement is possible

I think the worst part about this book is that sometimes the characters repeat themselves. The second is that it feels like McLean picked one word to represent every chapter (or maybe it’s just this chapter) and it’s making Sophie and King sound the same.

Not loving the multiple perspectives. Based on the summary, I was expecting one POV. I can understand getting glimpses from Grayson but Gabby I’m confused about. I’m sure her insight will be important but it feels sloppy right now.

I figured it would be the three villains against Jeremy. But it’s not that way at all. Jeremy and Nitro are going at it, and Draven and Dante are hitting each other at least as hard. Maybe harder. And every once in a while, they switch, so that at any given moment any one of them is beating on any one of the other three. Like a musical chairs version of a parking-lot brawl. It’s every super for himself.

Why would they need a pressure trigger in an elevator?
