Honestly, what is with this over explaining in dialogues? People don't really talk like that.
Like, one character just told the story of the reaper to all of us, you dont need to summarize what he just got done saying in another characters dialogue too.

The dad is ridiculous to me. Like his actions and lame excuses don't make sense. He is not starting off on a strong foot.
This is looking like it's about to be a DNF. I'm going to push through a little longer, but I'm already getting annoyed.

I know I've read this book before but cannot remember how I felt about it. This re-read so far is not impressing me much. I don't know why I wanted to read the second book unless this one ends on a cliffhanger that is so juicy I overlook everything else.
