It’s taken over a hundred pages for the characters to get off the porch and go do something.

McMurtry writes in such a way that it truly feels like you are there in the scene with the characters. It feels like you are sitting on the porch with Gus and Woodrow.

These early chapters are boring as hell.

Wow. The books ends pretty solidly. Asimov didn’t need to continue the series. It could stand alone.
I think I have to finish the series.

Where is this book going? What could the next book be about? Who knows?

This is a very good book. Asimov is laying out the history of a galaxy spanning a thousand years show casing turning points in the lives of key characters. Absolutely fascinating.

The thick plottens.

So far, nothing has happened and I’m hooked.

Less than 50 pages in and two nerdy dudes are talking about math and saying things I don’t understand. I should’ve known better.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve read a sci fi book of any sort.

God, I hope I don’t get prostate cancer.
