Samuel Daniel is on page 57 of 520 of Greeks, Romans, Germans: How the Nazis Usurped Europe's Classical Past (Joan Palevsky Imprint in Classical Literature)
Awesome book so well written. The author seems to have done painstaking research to try to show the absurdity of the nazi world view and also how a-historical it is.

Am enjoying it thoroughly; can’t put it down!

Whoa! Does Vidal love sex or what!
Yet the whole disrespectful treatment of the sacred subject is making me rethink things? How was the canon of the new Torah ie the new covenant formed?
This question is very relevant to our times where the application of the scriptures to the modern world is often in question!

Samuel Daniel is on page 44 of 272 of Messiah
Very interesting book, captures the American mind. Richard ( Rock?) Hudson is really Eugene Luther, who "knows" Julian the Apostate Emperor or rather worships him, and is now in the third world East, Egypt (India being too close to truth) and runs into another fellow "Cavite" before his dinner with two wealthy woman,Clarissa the Anglo Saxon with her poorer perhaps Iris(h) 'friend', Irish. . Classic American mind!!

Odd the book misses a very important event in Victoria & alberts reign ie the stealing of the kohinoor diamond from India. The book while mentioning facts still often feels like an attempt to humanize a immoral and power hungry and greedy tyrant who stole from the people they ruled over including the Irish & Indians.

No mention of the million Irish who starved to death under Victoria during the potato famine Or how the Muslim sultan of turkey offered $ 10,000 in famine relief to the Irish and was told to tone it down to 1000 to match Victoria’s 2000.
The book sadly seems to cover up one of the most Criminal and genocidal imperial act of Victoria and is disappointing in that sense

An interesting book ,even though deeply disappointed in the writers who seem to want to put up a "good face" of a depraved women who murdered a million people because they where not of german blood or of the protestant "faith". The book doesn't dwell on the mass murder of Victoria because i guess it would make the two English women writers very unpopular in Brexit bloody Britain. Villainous Victoria would be better!

Steal rolls and then return and steal milk.... how cheap and criminal. Does he reAlize it’s a ‘double felony’ coz he is using information he got from the owner of the shop to begin, about thefts

Samuel Daniel is on page 59 of 249 of The Power of Silence: Against the Dictatorship of Noise
No human noise ... even the sound of the Gospel.. can express the magnificent silence of God’ (pa.3) I am not sure the cardinal or Nicolas Diaz understand the profound implications of this statement. It pronounces a new religion of silence above the gospel of Christ and can be called a co-brother of Buddhism.

84. The life of consecrated monks is silent love.... A burnt offering makes no Noise......” The cardinal seems to get his ideas in strange places because the life of a monk is not of silence but praying The office of the church and contemplation on the Gospels of Christ.” Silence is not the goal of a Christian monk

“ no human noises even the sweet “words” of the Gospels can express the magnificent silence of God” not sure if I would place this in Christian theology as it calls for a Buddhist worship of silence. I went and checked and noticed that the book does not have the nihil impriteur

Great attempt. the author gives u insights that only someone close to Dahmer could have known and so i am glad this book was written. its worth is not in its style or analysis or content even but in the information that only a friend could have had. I am glad while humanizing dahmer at no point does he absolve jeffrey of the responsibilities of his actions and crimes. wish he had shown ore of the gym side of dahmer

Samuel Daniel is on page 36 of 172 of Desire: Where Sex Meets Addiction
Interesting book. Even though I am having trouble with following the author’s personal life and the argument she seems to want to make in the book that is she is an addict a sex addict among a few other addictions that she struggles with.
Why does she think her three marriages are/could be symptoms of sex addiction ?
