Riveting! Never knew this story (and neither did the author until 1994!)

Enjoying this memoir. Mrs. Graham is almost like Forest Gump-being an eyewitness to some of the most important events in 20th century America.

This book was not what I expected. I was looking for more of the story of the store rather than the author’s active social life. My mistake, though, after I read the reviews. One reviewer called it a “gossipy” book.

Very, very good. Finished Book One. Taking a short break.

I take my time reading O’Rourke’s books. Funny and often profound.
