This is begging a comparative essay with White Nights and the Door

attempting to read this in both English and Spanish…let’s see

it’s sweet and tender. i’m not loooving the plain prose, it reads as a diary with occasional gems of reflection that i wish are given more air. that said, there is a rhythmic cadence to her growing routines, a circularity which i think i’m being asked to appreciate

so far, what an intriguing and slow character study. the two women form a relationship that is quite indefinable: they're neither friends, family, romantic partners, or anything you can put a name to. yet, the subtle push and pull, ebbing insecurities and attachments, reveal ubiquitous tensions familiar to us all.
