The narrator just told us about “Toshers” in late 1800’s London, and I was pleased to think that Gaiman’s Sewer People from Neverwhere must have been inspired by these people.

The first time I read this, I hadn’t seen the Starz tv series. This time I’ve watched season one, which is all that’s been available to me to watch on the streaming platforms I have and I was pleased to hear the actors reprising their roles in the audio and shocked to find that season one is basically over about a quarter of the way into the novel!
