Legit crazy how hard this goes. There's a couple things executed better in the movie, but I keep finding myself scrolling back up (legally I mean turning a few pages back) to look at how good the art is again.
Can I get to my yearly goodreads goal by reading 10 more books in 18 days? Unlikely. But if I can get to some great fuckin comics this way, I might as well.

This is the first time I've finished a book in like 6 months, which is probably a good sign. I love you graphic memoir.

The cocaine stuff feels a little corny. There’s still some really good stuff in here though. Really captures complex ptsd well. Hits like a motherfucker.

I’m pretty attached to Laura Palmer, and I’ve been trying to get back to reading after the burnout I’ve been dealing with, so I figure why not? So far I think this could work even if I hadn’t seen the show/FWWM? But it adds layers on top of it that I like. Sometimes I read a line and I feel like Charlie Brown lamenting to the heavens. It resonates.

Not locking myself into finishing this, mostly in it to study the weird prose. It's pretty cool, definitely seeing how this informed an entire genre. Not expecting this to hit like the Altman movie though (nothing hits like the Altman movie (will not stop me from imagining stupid sexy Elliott Gould though))

Hitting his HEAD and falling DOWN and getting attacked by DOGS and a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN cuts off his HAND and he goes to PRISON and gets NEAR FATAL PINKEYE. (I’m really enjoying this)

This book isn’t nearly as essential as Persepolis, but it’s a nice little thing, bursting with love for her grandmother and her aunts. A little after-dinner tea.

I love these two books so much. They feel so dramatically different from each other, but they form a whole that is so much more than the sum of its parts.

Trying to get back on this whole reading thing. Decided to go back to a favorite. Still hits!

Resetting the challenge to what I originally set it for this year

I really really like parts of this a lot. specifically how goddamn weird it is to be a transfeminine person around people who don't care to respect or understand any of your new stuff. and also there's some bits that I don't love.

Coming back to this site because I have been getting emails and I have actually been reading books again since like November. Gotta juice up my stats before the end of the year haha.

This feels a lot less fraught than Bechdel’s other two books. Which isn’t a bad thing at all! Big fan of the layout work, and that the whole book is in color. It’s a different vibe basically.

Did you know goodreads has status updates? Anyway, it’s messed up that I can’t put Disco Elysium on my reading challenge, that’s like 10 books

Really enjoying the wider scope of this book. Also the pain. The horrible, horrible pain.
