Heidi McIntyre is on page 121 of 256 of Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage
I enjoy listening to memoirs because they read like a novel but are rooted in reality, especially when the narrator is the author. Strangers starts out with a bang when Belle Burden learns her husband cheated. What unfolded next was a wife's worst nightmare. Burden then goes back to the beginning, telling the story of her marriage. It's an absorbing read about life, lessons and a man's tyrannical mid-life crisis.

Anne Rice is a master storyteller when it comes to setting a scene. I'm enjoying the setup with the opening that features a mysterious mansion filled with antiquities. There's a sense of mystery mingled with the supernatural.

I don't typically read fantasy, but I got this book based on recommendation from a podcast. I was hooked from the first few pages! Love the strong heroine, rich, descriptive world and slow-burn romance.

Lynne Golodner is a poetic writer who paints wonderfully visual scenes. I'm enjoying learning about Orthodox Judaism, but this is a story about a marriage in crisis, and the choices we make when we're young and more naive.

I like the sense of mystery and magic surrounding Saoirse island. There is a lot of angst between Emery and August which is intriguing but feels lengthy. I'm looking forward to see how this moves the plot forward.

I'm really enjoying listening to this novel! The historical descriptions are impeccable, and I really like Martha Ballard, the main character. It's the type of book that's hard to put down and I'll hate to see it end.

There's a lot of mystery in this story about a mother who is dying and her single daughter comes to stay with her. Rose, a news photographer broke her arm during a shoot and winds up leaving Philadelphia to be by her mom's side in upstate New York. During her stay, Rose uncovers a family secret in the attic that keeps getting more dramatic with each discovery.
