i know i literally just started this and i was so hype about the concept but i kind of already want to dnf.

i feel like i need some more of mansur’s actual thoughts on delbar bc he’s kind of given nothing away despite the fact that they’re fucking and he is cheating on his boyfriend lol

have been watching the potc movies this week and i got the insane itch for a pirate novel so

everyone in this book is absolutely ridiculous

not massively jazzed about this so far

i like the writing and i think it’s interesting enough but i literally have no concept of what is going on

made it to thule. sigh

the problem w this is that nothing that happens seems like it actually matters. nora is fine the whole time, meeting and abandoning jackson hasn’t mattered at all, the egg computer thing was barely a blip, emilie was barely relevant + even the bumblebee has mattered way less than i assumed it would. plus the dialogue is truly just LIFELESS i feel like these people have never met before let alone are sisters

i’m invested enough to keep reading this book but it is unfortunately neither particularly well-written nor interesting

i actually haven’t touched this for a while bc i’ve been debating whether to dnf it :/ the premise and title both drew me but for a book about the aids crisis and activism there has so far been no activism

this book is so weird bc it’s so difficult to read but also very moreish? i wouldn’t even say i’m enjoying it it is genuinely so disgusting to read but i’m still interested. still don’t think the single-sentence thing is 100% warranted either idk i do like the flow state but i’d like a full stop for chapters and some semi-colons also

all the elements are there for this to be so fascinating and it almost is but it’s just not quite there for me :/

still unsure if i’m gonna continue with this - i can handle the gore but it just really doesn’t appeal to me and i’m not obsessed with the execution of the single sentence concept. it’s starting to intrigue me though so who knows

ok genuinely idgaf that people don’t like this because i truly think it’s beautiful + clay dunbar is so very noah sweetwine from igyts i can’t bear it

reading this is like being punched repeatedly in the head and i’m trying to dodge them but they just keep landing
