I’m absolutely docking one star for the shitty move of killing commander root. But I’m also crying thinking about how butler realized he did share his first name with Artemis at one point before his memory was wiped.

I know we’re getting more of the Juliet content now but I really wish we could’ve seen more of butler being a baddie content. We continue to get insights on how Juliet is always comparing herself to her brother but I feel like we haven’t seen enough of her brother fighting from this storyline to fully understand it.

Very hard to keep going with this book. Not necessarily hard to read like the three body problem or super technical by any means. But reading about a very developed spider society and humans continuous never ending cycle with one another tends to drain one’s enthusiasm for the plot.

Pretty sure the author is a Zie zie but I’m gonna finish this book anyway. Bc it’s been sitting there for years. I need to know how this goes. But it’s so painful to have to reread these characters going through this suffering again

Why did I CALL it that Addie and Luc would get together. It was absolutely suspect.

I knew it. From the moment the book started describing how strangely people were acting around Henry from Addie’s perspective I knew it. I had an inkling that’s exactly what was going on with him. He’s loved and wanted by all.

I’d like to know why Henry was the only “normie” who’s remembered her so far

Previously any close connections with girls had made Lauren’s defenses go up. But “something” about Krystin miraculously makes her feel like her walls are coming down. I don’t buy it. That was way too quick. Also what, one moment Lauren is reading krystin to tango and next, this rodeo girl from the Midwest who hasn’t had a singular gay thought suddenly moves in and kisses her?? NAH

First page in, why is it giving age of Adeline?

I’ve gotten to the point where I understand who Anna is to the main character. The book itself has been a very addicting and smooth read. Which is excellent. But the context/backstory on who Anna is to the main character feels very not well thought-out. Came very much out of left wing sure, but it just doesn’t fit in so well with the rest of the story I sort of expected more complexity. Will it end a love story?

Loving it so far. Definitely giving board game, video game vibes. Actually if there were a video game for this book I’d play it.

At the point where the team has discovered that Rosco was indeed lying all along about not knowing where the twins were. And Oscar’s reaction is giving big red flags. Saying shit like how Rosco’s gonna get it and NONE of his friends being concerned he’s saying shit like that gives major unrealisticness plus red flags

As I get further into the book I start to realize that there are a lot of real world analogies and references in it. Stuff I may not have been able to identify when I had first read through it. I do have to give applause to this. That the author was able to incorporate these analogies into her story. And I do hope that it’s intended effect happens

Ok and now that erec has a sinking suspicion rosco is responsible for the twins kidnapping and he has no direct reports he can go to that he trusts to talk and plan this matter with?? Like what’s he gonna do storm up to rosco who’s infinitely more powerful than him and demand the twins back?? This just feels so not well thought out

Just had another thought about smooth transitions. It was mentioned in the previous book that Erec’s appearance had been altered for his safety. But now that everyone kinda knows who he is and he basically understands that happened to him, why isn’t his appearance reverted? Also why can’t ANYONE including the lady who raised them tell that something is WRONG with Sammy and Danny??

Ok erec using the remote and pointing it directly at his tutor to MAKE his tutor spit the truth out about his father is the exact same behavior as the shit the bullies had done in the previous books. We’re supposed to want to root for the MC but here we have him behaving in the most questionable manner and not even being reprimanded for it. So bogus

Transitioning into chapter 3. I immediately notice another incoherent transition. A bad habit the author seems to have brought over from the first book. I get that Erec’s friend’s tutor came in to save Erec in the nick of time. But questions abound! How did he know Erec was there? How did he know who Erec and what Erec looked like?? WHY didn’t he go with him into the capsule? What, no thank yous, see yas??

As I’ve progressed further in the book I can still tell that there is a lack of depth in a lot of the source material. For example, who is this evil crown prince? They could’ve provided more background on who he is in relation to the three king/queens. Instead what? Towards the end, Erec Rex is just shoved into a room with him. This rando who abuses power and wants to murder him. Like context would’ve helped.

I remember reading this book back in school and having a really good impression of it. But going back to it now, I’m finding that it is full of awkward bumps in the journey. Eric’s sudden outbursts at his mom. The narration just isn’t smooth. And neither are the transitions.

Day should’ve been blinded by his rage for the murder of his mother and the betrayal from June. With all this happening he should’ve been mad and blinded by rage. But no because of this unrealistic infatuation that he and June have for each other. Everything is understandable to him. This bugs the hell out of me.

Just reading the brief preview at the beginning of the book where it implied that Day wasn’t the one who killed Matias. And then jumping into the beginning of the book. I immediately suspected it was Thomas who was gonna murder him. Damn that’s not a shocker at all… almost classic 😑

What the hell is happening in this book. The purpose the main character Fin had from the beginning hung on for a VERY long time! Then without us noticing they’re just caught up in this fucking conspiracy about who’s killing other vampies?? Like where did that original motivating starting line goooo?? Helloooo

I am not liking this book so far. Feels like some kind of unedited wattpad publishing. A lot of this doesn’t make sense with the stuff happening between the two MCs in the beginning it just is very irrational.

Update it’s confirmed he does not have multiple disorders he’s BEEN KNEW and deceiving our asses too painting himself as innocent

Perhaps he has multiple personality disorder?
