first chapter down and its surprisingly easy to read through. when it comes to medieval prose I'm still damanged by Paradise Lost, which was almost unbearably hard to read 😀

Weirdly entertaining. Emphasis on "weird"

jaaa puh. schmerzhaft zu lesen. die namen der hier erwähnten gulags sind durch die eigene familiengeschichte bekannt... umso schmerzhafter dass die arbeit von memorial in r. eingestellt wurde und so viele akten, orte und zeitzeugen(berichte) nicht mehr zugänglich sind.

kein plan warum ich dieses hörbuch angefangen habe. sommerlich-leicht + hape kerkeling ist einfach eine interessante persona!

I feel like very fantasy reader has this one holy grail, kinda gritty, kinda dark fantasy series from the early-mid 2000s, written by a white man, they absolutely fall in love with. For me it was Gentlemen Bastards. For First Law... I think I'm to late to the party...

I don't know how to feel... Writing? Superb. Gorgeous. I eat it up. But oh well, the orientalism is bad in this one.

such a layered text, I don*t even know how to gather my thoughts about this - so far I especially enjoy the exploration of gender and sexuality that is so smoothly written into this arthurian tale

Prose, atmosphere and dialogue are not as good as I hoped they would be - fortunately the protagonist is just my kind of guy protagonist (= depressed bisexual mess) 🙂

so cruel yet so enjoyable, so disgusting yet so addicting, I serve at the will of the grim dark 🙏🏻

Die Antagonistin könnte auch aus einem 90er Jahre Batman Cartoon sein :D schade, dass so viel off-screen passiert ist zwischen den büchern. Aber Eric Banyon ist halt einfach ein super sympathischer Prota, dem man nichts übel nehmen kann und das Musik-Thema ist wieder top!

Ich glaube, das Buch funktioniert jetzt schon nicht für mich 🙈 der Prota hat einfach mega white christian saviour mäßig reingeschissen und die Wirtschaft eines ganzen (ich nehme an im globalen Süden liegenden) Inselstaates zerstört. und natürlich ist der Nordpol unbewohnt, nur Santa Claus lebt dort. Ich denke jetzt schon wieder zu viel über die politics des world buildings nach mist

Ich liebe es jetzt schon! Bardugo imitiert den Stil von klassischen spanischen Familiensagas, aber modernisiert - richtig gut und passend.

Neues Hörbuch 🎵 Ob ich und Cozy Fantasy in diesem Leben noch Freunde werden? Bisher finde ich es ein wenig basic und vorhersehbar. Figuren sind ein wenig nervig, aber ich mag den Namen "Sebastian" total :D Die Art von Magie mag ich eigentlich auch ganz gerne. Mal schauen, wo es hingeht! Interessant, dass dieses Buch auch zumindest Fanfic-inspiriert ist 😀
