Not even an hour into the book and I’m already deeply annoyed. Not this guy putting white men like EO Wilson and John Muir on a pedestal for their conservation work, as if they discovered it, without even mentioning the indigenous people who have been stewarding “the wild” (whatever that means) for generations. Immediately skeptical.

I’m very confused on the reason to name the kingdom “Blunder” but willing to hear someone out?? Otherwise, really vibing with the writing. And lemme tell you one thing about me. I LOVE a problematics father-daughter relationship, it is my absolute KRYPTONITE.

The main character and her entire family has the unfortunate characteristic of being wildly self-centered. Otherwise, this is turning out fine.
