Stuff your kindle day is going to be the end of me 💀💀💀

I've decided to do a wild thing and instead of starting new books, I'm going to actually finish the series I've started and not intentionally dropped. It's taking a LOT of self control, especially considering the size of that TBR.

Reminds me of why I don't often read contemporary fiction about women my age... hits too close to home.

I know people say don't judge a book by it's cover... but this cover says nothing and i mean N O T H I N G about what to expect about this one...

After months of independent titles, AO3 and various comics I read my first Amazon book this year. [applause sign] Only took me like, 5 months.

It's an odd feeling. It's also why I wish there is a goodreads like website for all sorts of reading content so I could REALLY track my progress

And of course the one that I read was close on the heels of my favourite book series.

Now to remember how to review things...

Another day, 2 new ARCs. This brings me to a total of 5. I'm going to need to find a way to pencil some sleep into my schedule between this and my growing TBR...

Reading this so far, it's a lovely, cosy story with a couple of implied horrifying elements. However it's made me come to a self realisation.

I can't stand flashbacks. No matter how important or well done they are, my eyes just glaze over and all I want is to go back to the interesting parts.

4 ARCs waiting and a year spent reading mostly indie titles and web novels and AO3 fics.

I think it's time to start speedrunning some novellas for my goodreads reading challenge >.>

I'm becoming one of those people.

11% So far I like the first 10% better than the first book for a few reasons.

3. Mikhail
4. No Andrei! 🥳

I can only hope that Mikhail replaces Andrei as the love interest. Also Luna now talks. So that's nice.

I'm reading this book series so I can understand an ARC I have to read. And so far this has been the first one I've gone back and annotated previously read chapters and it's made me feel things. Not like sad things. Or emotional things. Just... THINGS.

Is this a contender for a 'books that broke me' shelf? Only time will tell.

I get this immense joy for some reason, whenever i add a book to my 'cute cat' shelf.

The great thing is, not a single one of these cats is just a random ass pet cat named Marmelade or Shadow or something. It's always something weird and I am 100% here for it.

It takes about 50% of the book and a full infodump for things to get interesting. And it went from "I'm visiting some friends and taking a nap" to "OH SHIT" fast. Loved this halfway reveal. I just wish the setup was less of a "I'm going to visit Jack, Sally, Annie and Joe" and more of a... setup.

Funny thing about this book is until I saw the alternate cover on goodreads, I had NO idea who the main character was. Were they male? female? Non binary? No clue.

I suppose I should read blurbs more, rather than just "Oh I need to read this before my ARC. K.". Huh...

Currently re-reading the first season of this. I forgot how brilliant this was. I recommend it to everyone.

My Goodreads has been a barren wasteland as I spent my days lately reading webcomics and being in the deepest, darkest parts of AO3. I'm not sure I know how to escape. I accept any and all life saving equipment.

Anyway, anyone know of a good reading tracker for non book things for chronically online readers?

Anyone else notice how their friends lists and following lists follow specific bandwagons? Like, once a book pops up on one person's feed suddenly it's everywhere.

I think I'm about to go on a cottagecore and cosy writing binge. Wish me luck squad.

My first official ARC and it begins with the tagline "it's the literary equivalent of a bunch of fetish gear tossed into a dumpster fire and set on fire". Time to brew a big pot of tea and get comfy. This is going to be a ride one way or another!
