I'm trying very, very hard to read this book one chapter at a time with "breaks" between chapters.
I like what I've read so far, but I am finding it very hard to get pulled in.
Hopefully, as the weather gets colder, I'll be more inclined to keep going.

I'm liking this book. Kinda feeling a little sorry I'd held off reading it for such a long time.

I was a little reticent to start this book (518 pages from an author I never heard of)... but then I notid that the type was really big... This'll be a breeze :-)

As long as this book is, I'm dreading the ending.

Touching and intense. I'm finding it very hard to keep my emotons in check while reading this. But damn are those "local" accents hard to decipher!

Liking it so far... "An 19th Century Western's Town's Boy's Life." kinda story. .magine that, me actually reading and liking a western... I guess the end of the world IS coming!

liked the start...
then it goes into sci-fi territory/karate kid territory.
I'm somewhat dissapointed as it headed where I wasnt really expecting it to, but will hold my judgement til I've read more.
...sad to say, it doesn't really improve... ah well, 40 pages left, may as well finish it.

OK, so maybe Claire has SOME redeeming qualities... she's still gonna need that spankin' some good into her, though.
Also enjoying Esperanza's back-story

Luckily, this book doesn't delve too much on Marilyn's upbringing prior to her starting as a model, then a starlet.
Unluckily, it does delve on her marriages and affairs... hopefully to later male the reader realize the implied mafia participation in her suicide.

doesn't say much about her early pre-model / pre-starlet years, which I'm fine with. Starts pretty much at her 1st marriage. The 2nd chapter, seems to mostly deal with her DiMaggio years.

Gee, that Kitty Katt is smart... it's almost as if she knew what the author will be writing ahead of time ;-)
