2014 re-read. I read this prior to 2008 and gave it one star. However, I've seen comments that though it's a point-for-point copy of The Lord of the Rings and pretty simple in comparison, it works better as part of the original trilogy, which I'd like to give a fair shot. I'm also just in the mood for some epic fantasy in a far-future scavenger world and thought re-reading would allow me to write a fair review.
