I first read this in 2009. My best friend’s parents were both born and raised in Iran and until I met her, I didn’t know anything about Iran or its history. I’ve thought about this graphic novel a lot over the years and the news of Marjane Satrapi’s passing stopped me in my tracks and inspired this much needed reread
