hmm. predictable ending but not a bad one. i love it when i can tell which character is an authors favorite and in this case it SHOWS. also not in a bad way- (holland slays). that being said this was just a lowkey boring ending and it was a fun series but i am left wanting more, not in quantity (why was it so long?), but in quality per chapter

where did the plot go? i am bored :( i feel as though you can only have so much main character angst and brooding before its like, cmon, the development needs to happen at some point. lets get back to the point please!!!

unfortunately not the biggest fan BUT "sky poem" and "a letter to love" slapped.

so actually rhy and luc are turning out to be the best thing to come out of this whole series and i genuinely love that for them

the first story was incredible which means now each one after keeps falling short (also not to be greedy but i think i want a bit more magical realism?? like this is fine and all but i am positive it could be pushed further)

3.5⭐️ yeah ok. probably would’ve been better in the original japanese but oh well. the line between quirky and just flat out not working was blurred too much with the translation but i’d bet it balances quite nicely in the original given that it rly reads like other contemporary japanese vibes-only novels

3⭐️ i had higher hopes for this. feels very fractured, and really the only thing that ties each vignette together is the fact that each is about the authors life. which like, would work if there was an overarching theme. but there isn’t. it’s just animals that at best feel loosely related to the random story being told. meanwhile the actual biological facts abt the animals are just tossed in. not a huge fan.

4⭐️ i’ve been meaning to read this foreverrrrrr. paced a little weird at times? but it’s also the first book in a series so thats kind of to be expected. i also love broody boys and girls who definitely will stab you! will be reading the rest of the series for sure

alright time to place bets on how many books i will read during this flight. 13.5 hours and i have 8(?) books downloaded

hello????? turns out i don’t like sad endings with no happy conclusion bc what do i even take away from that?????? wtf??? like the message is just that life is random and unfair and sucks and that’s it?????? help i do not like that

BIG SLAY exploring womanhood and autonomy through sci-fi and intelligent robots and men getting what they deserve and it is so satisfying

if a bad episode of the clone wars was novelized but make it actual literature but that doesn’t rly save it

weird. but like in a really good way? super quirky and love whales and love magical realism and absurdity and this was almost perfect. but like maybe a little too weird.

I WANTED THIS TO BE GOOD SO BAD YOU GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND!! stealing the dna of celebrities 50 years in the future and secrets and mysteries should have been so good but the info dumping and weird timelines make this such a stupid read. this earns a regrettable 2.5⭐️, and i hate that it’s making me do that to it.

unfortunately, i lose interest in romance novels the second they actually are able to profess their love for each other. fortunately, it takes mariana zapata’s characters like 90% of the book to actually do that so the up until then is pretty enjoyable. it’s a me problem not a her problem. 3.5⭐️

whoop whoop what a perfect book! that makes two first person pov reads in a row for me, which normally i’d object to, but it worked perfectly for both!! love you time travel romance <333

i had to put the book down about every three pages to go “this is so cool!!!” and i’m also becoming increasingly obsessed with ayrton senna and i think that tells you all you need to know about this book. FIVE STARS
