Tremendously well written and sincere. I think Beth Allison Barr finds a careful balance between history, personal, experience, and scriptural interpretation which leads to a sincere, multifaceted argument. Eager to listen to the rest of her thoughts

This book is conceptual unique,
eccentric, and surprisingly vulgar for something written by a famous priest. At times, I think that I’m enjoying it but it’s hard to push past all the archaic language & foolishness. It is a book about folly after all so I shouldn’t have expected anything serious

It is interesting to see that many in the early church thought of Jesus as the Great Philosopher. I’m eager to explore this idea

Very methodical book. The beginning seemed slow but now the connections are falling into place! I’ve never read anything like this book & I’m starting to really like it.

Really good insight about the importance of Leviticus 17 as a precursor to chapters 18-26
