hmm Morita therapy. want to read his book defo. rly love the concept, looking into the future and accepting emotions, but what is the whole sit in silence for two weeks thing about? see, my problem with this book is there’s not enough detail or explanation. i’m sure there’s specific reasons for each step but they don’t divulge!!

another thing!! whilst the concepts are explained with examples, i think having actual definitions would prove more useful. neuroses, OCD, PTSD; these are all conditions that have pop culture stereotypes, and i think the general public
for whom this book is aimed would benefit from clarifying definitions.

currently discussing logotherapy. i like the use of the case studies but i just want more depth and detail. so far, the concepts discussed aren’t anything too crazy in terms of self improvement, and any background in wellness or psychology would mean you may find this book a bit boring. but we shall see, plenty left to go!!

i’ve absolutely powered through this audio book so far. you can’t even begin to imagine what these poor children must have been through at the hands of their parents, and you also can’t imagine what would ever push a parent to inflict this upon their child. the story of Hope rocked me, and yet i felt for her when Andrea left an offering of help on the table at their interview. so weird to get your head around!

such a charming and gripping book! the switch between time lines is slowly becoming more intertwined, and i love the way it’s written - enough detail that you’re fully immersed, but not bored by over explanation of unnecessary details.
loving it so far

listening to the audio version and really enjoying so far. narrated by one of the authors andrea, i firstly thought that the background info being given was slightly unnecessary, but i think the overview in the intro thus far has actually been very interesting and informative. i think this book will be a difficult one, but extremely important
