so devastating I just went oooooohoooo and put the book down. gilman's writing puts tears in my eyes the way that a sudden bright light or heavy object on the foot does.

the way this series does huge lore dumps and then out of place dialogue really throws me. beautiful (sometimes even TOO beautiful) art does not fully hold a story together, and this one is halfway unlaced. at this point im just not sure if it's coming undone or about to tie together
