Post-apoc dystopian with sentient, electrostatic Dust stuff and a strong heroine that can talk to it/ask it to do things. Nifty. It has a gritty, Baja desert vibe to it, too, and a couple interesting characters so far with some good world building.

Zaniest romance I've read in a long time. It's charmingly funny.

I've been falling behind in my reading in September. 32k written into a new novel, though, so at least I'm being somewhat productive. Apologies to those waiting on review requests - but when the muse cracks the whip, I must answer while the spark is there :)

The book is jumping around a bit now through a few different perspectives. While normally this would make me dizzy, it's written in a way that makes it almost exciting to follow as everything is developing at the same time line and heading towards connecting junctures

I am liking the dichotomy of the two angles being followed- one from the viewpoint of a State worker who's eyes are slowly waking up to the truth around him and the other following the harsh, guerrilla style warfare going on outside the high walls of the sheltered city. Often time, books of this genre focus on only one of those view points and ignore the other. I like how this presents both for a full story.

Thanks to some insomnia last night, I made more progress. Although I am not connecting as fully with the characters in this one as I would like (Yet), the story is enjoyable and the world building is excellent. Still 40% to go so holding my rating thoughts until the end.

*applauds the strong heroine that is Sophi* And interested to see how Eric, who seems used to leading, will deal with a girl like Sophi. Also, worldbuiling. This book has it. *pleased grin*

Travis has taken on a more mature and serious tone for this book in the series - exploring Michele's past, the turmoil of war, Aaron's resentment, the loss of Ana and the stalking/investigation by a detective who knows what they are. So far, so good. This may be Travis's best yet...

Hmm this book is starting to get a little frustrating.. I love Peaches, but the way she keeps running for the hills and leaving poor Dalton.. I dunno.. leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Not a fan of wishy-washy female protagonists..

Gawd this book is full of great lines.
" 'Just be yourself,' I whispered to myself. 'Except be more fucking charming and not weird. And stop talking to yourself.' " - Peaches

With most anthologies, I would have run across at least one story I don't like.. I'm on story 7, and so far I have liked everything I've read

Every story is so unique, enjoyable and well done. Probably one of the best Sci-Fi anthologies I have read in a very long time, and certainly the best SFR anthology I have ever read.

Allure shows the variety of the stories within the anthology, moving from the suspenseful and hard-edged Imprint to a sweetly, softly written short story about two lives being separated by a distant planetary war. Sara's fiance, Ash, has been called to war and they spend his last night on Earth together, contemplating what might have been and what possibility there is for a future.

Daaaaaa *gasp* aaaaaamn. *ahem* Crazy shit is crazy, but in a good way. Admittedly a bit of an uncertain start for me, the unexpected twists are picking up and it is very enjoyable. Note to self: Keep the heroine away from the vampires. Always.
