Malinda is in bio class and she is studying fruit in her class. Her teacher Ms. Keen teaching skills are different compared to Malinda’s other teachers.

The lady who Starr is describing the incident name is Gomez. Starr tell Gomez everything and her mom tells her to use proper language because so she can sound professional in the interview. Starr's interview with Gomez is also being recored.

Starr is having lunch with her family, they are giving their prayers, she explains how Sekani's prayer is always long because he adds lot of details. When Starr gives her prayer it was short and her's are usually long but her, which made everyone go quiet in silence.

Esperanza family member has a girl friend and each time one of Esperanza's family brings her up they describe his girlfriend different each time.

After Starr had the talk with the police she felt like weights been lifted of her chest. She she kept having nightmares but she still manages to get enough rest.

Melinda is in mr. Necks class and mr. Neck talks about immigration and want the students to debate. His family has lived in America for over 200 years. He wants the students to look back of their family’s history and try to figure out how they arrived to America.

After reading chapter 1 Alice is a girl who lives in 1940 London, the underground. She is a girl who lives in a very old house and not a lot to offer.

Starr talks about how it's like in her dad's job and she says that there are customers that buy lots of stuff and how they have a pit bull and how a big baby it is.
