At least the mystery of Suzie's father has been solved. In the first book I thought it was Ron the delivery man but obviously I was wrong. Figured out who it was before the book told me tho! So some points for that, right? Now lets see if my ideas for who killed the sheriff are right...

Well I wasn't 100% correct back on chapter 14. Though I had a sneaking idea in the two chapters before they caught the killer. Onward to the novella...

On chapter 14 and I feel like I already have a good idea of who the killer is/what happened/ect. In the first book I read of the series (Red Velvet Cupcake Murder), I had figured out the killer and the motive about halfway through the book. Let's see if I'm on the right track this time...

While there's a thing or two that I disagree with, this book is pretty good. I mainly disagree with some of the way the author words things as they come of as condescending.

I was totally ready to dislike this book honestly. I was pleasantly surprised when I read the chapter on Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. I grew up watching both men and loving Benoit (he was my favorite for quite a while). I was sure the author would villainize Benoit totally but he didn't - nor did he make Benoit out to be just some poor soul but he was human. That made me want to read the rest of the book.

It's a good book but a little slow at points. I still think there should be more focus on the cryptids instead of cryptozoologists because they frequently have at least a page and half while quite a few cryptids only get a paragraph. It's not just cryptids that have little to no real information about them but ones with long histories that are getting the short end of the stick here.

Enjoying the book, though it feels slow in a few parts. Also a lot of room is being used on profiles for cryptozoologists - maybe too much room. I also wish there were some more pictures like at least a picture for each crytpid (drawn or evidence or specimens).

Re-reading this yet again. Just read it about 6 months ago, started the sequel pretty much right after and I just saw the movie in 3D the other week and yet, here I go, re-reading it while I have a box of un-read books waiting for their turn. Oops.

Taking my time with re-reading as I try and work on my paranormal story. Been using Zak's book as a helpful guide to help explain the scientific things about the paranormal.
