This book is most definitely not fiction but I still love it(no I did not just figure this out now I couldn't think of anything else). But I have finally reached the point where Reggie has realized he did text while drive and he is about to confess guilty and I am excited to see where that goes and the reaction of the people involved in the case

This book is still super interesting. Hearing about the legal process is super cool to me. Its all so intricate and complicated and I want to learn more about that kind of stuff. Seeing how Reggie's attorney avoids certain wordings to make sure he wins the case is so interesting to me. He has this whole game plan.

This book was so good. It really helped give a perspective to me as a white individual to what different races(primarily African American) have to face on a day to day basis. I feel that more needs to be done about the situation highlighted in the book. More people need to stand up. Cause if they don't nothing will change.

Part of me relates to this book. When Quinn says, "I wanted to be...Someone who believed a better world was possible -- someone who stood up for it"(Reynolds 267). I want the same. The world is already so messed up. I want to be there to change it.

I love the symbolism this books uses. Some of the quotes are so impactful and they really make you feel. I really like that about this book.

In All American Boys Rashad's school is hosting a protest to fight for his justice. In response to hearing about this Rashad says, "I would stand with them. That is, if I could get out of the hospital"(Renolds 203). Rashad because of what he's been through is starting to see the anger he has towards the cop that beat him and get justice for the crimes against him. He now see's his worth and is fighting for it.

I haven't read this book in awhile and I'm glad I got back into it. I forgot how good the story was. For it only being a man sitting alone in a room the story is very intriguing.

on page 179 Quinn starts to think about "the idea that [he] could just walk away from everything that was happening to Rashad [and] Paul...and walk away from all of it like a ghost. [So] what kinda of person did that make [him]) and I think that is very powerful. As someone who has thoughts similar to that I relate to him but also his story is different from mine. So I can learn.

Im excited to see where Quins side of the story will go. He started to become slightly self aware about racism and I'm wondering if he's going to step up and say something.

Unspoken rules impact many cultures. Especially unspoken rules of hate. When people look at African American people sometimes hate fills their minds. They have been told that just because they fit into a category means they are a bad person. In the book Spoony says its perfectly, "I'm so sick of them treating us like we animals. Like we are America's disobedient dogs"(Reynolds 52).

I am trying to figure out where the plot is going to go. I'm wondering if Paul will snap or something or maybe if he got fired.

Make up for week of 3/27

Throughout my research, I found that "Police killed 274 Black people in the in 2021" and even more through the next 2 years. This number is too high. And this is only in one minority. Asian, Native, and Hispanic also contributed to the total number of deaths by police in 2021. That total is 1,163. Thats to many.

So far I'm really liking the book. The difference in character and how they all connect flows very nicely. I can relate to some of the characters but not the actions they take. So this is mostly a window for me.
