this is becoming repetitive in a tedious way. this book "rubs me the wrong way" indeed.

at this point, instead of trying to identify my understanding, i embrace the transformative oscillations of confusions and eurekas.

so far thought-provoking, but i can see it getting repetitive/circular in arguments. very intrigued to see the concept of wu wei illuminated here. the writing feels clunky at times, some paragraphs end abruptly, and ideas re-emerge inorganically. but some challenging questions posed, which i like, gives my mind an equivalent of a complicated yoga pose exercise to master.

did not expect takt's pov to be included, but it gives a different view of sara, so ig it works... what does *not* work is these ai snippets, they feel simply pasted in and not particularly insightful or important for the story.

loved the beginning about anglification issue, but now worry that these ai bot convos will make up half of the book :/

ciao Italy, we are now in India. this was going quite well, all zoned in on the benefits of meditation being dumbed down for me, but then my mind had to turn into a monkey, and tell me, why did i have to read the recent guardian article?? yes, the same Liz who was ommming in India when I was nearing my 1-year-old birthday is now telling us she wanted to murder her wife and how both were addicts and now idk what to do

it's amazing that the book tackles such an intimate, carnal part of Ukrainian history. just finding that there is nothing...new? the primary sources are fascinating, but it feels like i have heard all of this before. also, the conclusions in each chapter are repetitive and unnecessary as there's not that much info to recap.

i thought this couldn’t get any better, but here we have the burial of the patriarchs with “three confused-looking bearded men being rowed on a gondola by an elegant horse-woman with white moon-horns […] it is clear who is in control”.

this is better than watching a tv series

this is going to be one of the best books read this year. not a single story has lost its grip or ability to put me on the verge of tears.
