Chapter 22 - Not to rant in these little notes, but where’s the love? You have Adam as an incredibly angry and violent man. I need wayyyyyyy more to even consider this love story angle or think he’s deserving.

Chapter 15 - So we got Lumiere being sad about how the prince went down this dark path and how he was a great kid. Okay sure. So what changed??? The Gaston book implied that it all came on slowly and the big push was his grand tour. I dunno. Now we're gonna go down the rabbit hole of nature vs nurture.

Chapter 14 - locks himself in his bedroom and only lets Gaston visit him yeah okay buddy super normal

Chapter 13 - good lord that was physical assault good lord what am I reading???? ngl I do not want Adam to end up with anyone. You can't fix abusers.

Chapter 10 - So the guy readily admits that he doesn't love the fiance but does begrudgingly likes some aspects of her and then proceeds to list the core characteristics of an abusive relationship wow. Disney wow.

Chapter 8 - So hot fiance comes to the castle but he's hanging out at the tavern every night. Some nights he's stalking around the castle and he considers himself the type to sneak into bedchambers at night but that's not what he's about rn bcs there are other problems. Sure man. But the real interesting thing is he asks for Gaston's hitman and Gaston concludes that it's for the princess hmmmm I dunno

Chapter 6 - Hang on, the King is dead???? What?? He wasn't in the other book. Well at least the author isn't totally walking back Adam's character. He'll make a nice observation and then say something revealing how incredibly vain he is.

Chapter 5 - Well this is interesting. Gaston is the pompous bully/jerk. The prince's portrait is randomly in the tavern???? Gaston calls him a woman for worrying about wrinkles LMAO

Chapter 3 - Okay so we've already got some differences. Adam is telling us these tales about how he loves hunting, he's the best, and he's always hanging out in the tavern. That's not what Gaston had to say in his book. Which one is the liar? Also, he's portraying himself as a player. Which was def not happening in the Gaston book. So far it's significantly less gay but this is only the start of the first flashback.

Chapter 6 Holy Fuck this got EXTREMELY gay jfc. Is the author doing this on purpose? Oh my god. I was under the impression this was one of those authorized Disney book series. There's no fucking way. But the author is queer. Oh My God what is going on. I think I'm having a stroke.
