For someone who “can fight for herself”, Emery gets saved quite a lot by a man (and even tho that man is Cameron and I kinda love Cameron he’s still a man) and I need Emery to stop talking about how she can save herself and start to FUCKING SAVE HERSELF.

I already love it.

This book is addicting.

I think this is the first time I’ve actually felt sick whilst reading. My heart feels heavy. I need something light.

I absolutely adore moments of just being loving humans despite the pain, the grief, the fear and the wars.
The moment where the light is stronger than the darkness and one remembers why they fight.

I’m crying like a child. Godsdamnit. Can’t remember the last time I cried because of a book.

The beginning of the book is my personal nightmare and I cannot understand how Darrow managed to get out of this situation without major mental health issues or a broken mind.

I love Victra and Sevro, even tho he acts like an asshole but he is our asshole, so we have to deal with it.

Every death in this book hits incredibly hard … how does Pierce manage to make us care for every character in this book?! Even the morally sinister?!

I’m emotionally invested now. Bought the two following books for that one.

Damn, I have no idea what exactly happened, but Pierce clearly found his groove as the book progressed. It reads smoothly and is super gripping. Surprisingly, the writing style is more enjoyable than in the first 100 pages.

I’m invested.

The book is dark even tho the writing style dampens it a little bit…(at the very least, the German translation is quite simple and, in places, clumsily written).

Not be dramatic. But this is one hell of a good book. The panic attacks and overall PTBS symptoms are very well portrayed!
