Not be dramatic. But this is one hell of a good book. The panic attacks and overall PTBS symptoms are very well portrayed!

Ich habe ca eine Stunde mit meiner besten Freundin telefoniert und das Fazit dieses Gesprächs ist folgendes: arg enttäuschend, flache Charaktere und „hat da jemand KI als helfende Hand verwendet?“
-> Aber wir sind tapfere Leserinnen und wir werden es zu Ende lesen!! Auch, wenn wir dabei leiden.

Ich bin erst bei der Hälfte…der HÄLFTE. Was soll denn da noch kommen?
Bzw: wann gehts denn mal los?? Was wiederum dann bedeuten würde: Ich bin SCHON bei der Hälfte.

Vampires and baseball games were yesterday.

The author loves the word “schtick” (is that even a real word? Looks like jumbled letters.)

Ohoohhh I already love that twisty, wild and just sweet and simple literature.

There is suspense and then there is whatever this is…get to the pooooinnnnntttt.

Took the time for a slow morning today. Really needed it and tbh the book is a good companion for a slow morning with a cup of black tea, while it rains outside.

I want to smack the old lady against the wall. Would it be appropriate? Probably not. I would do it anyway…

The vibe reminds me very much of the show “The Hunting of Bly Manor”. Quite a good show, you should watch it.
Also the servants in the book remind me of the servants in the show. Maybe the author used the show as an inspiration. I don’t mind that tho…depending on how the book progresses.

The tone of the book is eerie.
I love it.

I have such a soft spot for characters who are looked at lovingly and are absolutely shocked by it, because they are not used to it.

The last ten pages were filled with: what the fuck?!-thoughts and ended in a satisfying nod.

One would assume that at 2.400 meter below sea level, certain precautions would be taken, such as not all crawling into the very strange cave that shouldn't really be there, and one person staying behind to secure the way back. But of course, it's also a plan if everyone climbs into the questionable hole with no safe way out or any other safety measures.

Guys, you know I’m on my summer vacation as soon as I read underwater horror books.

This one is pure gore. I didn’t count the deaths until now but damn … there are many. And not in a pretty way. But the people are as naive and dumb as they can be.

I don't know if the author has had personal experience with manipulative, toxic and emotionally abusive guys, but the ex-boyfriend didn't even show up and the WA messages alone made me break out in a sweat, including a tight feeling in my chest.

It would be wonderful if the cover art would match the contents…it looks like it is made for 14 years old but tackles themes like grief, death of a beloved person and toxic relationships (as well as a love or parent-child relationship)
