I really liked this book. At times I did find it a little long but overall the story did keep me wanting to find out about Dmitri's story.
It's a great historical alternative and I found out a lot about the Romanov family, through extra reading, about whom I knew next to nothing except that they had been killed during the revolution.
If you like reading a story of love and intrigue, you will enjoy this book!

For writers, most probably women writers, will do well to begin their day reading one of her chapters.
