Final book to get bingo blackout on my Powell’s Summer Reading Challenge!!

My library loan ran out and the new hold is 13 weeks’ wait…

Ok fine I’ll read this like everyone else in the world

3.5, rounding up. If there were a Pulitzer for perfect book titles, this one would win.

The entire story was so tense and kept me uneasy in a good way. The ending got a bit too unrealistic, but on the positive side was a quick story.

The audiobook is narrated by the actress who plays Lady Danbury and listening is an absolutely fantastic experience so far.

Starting this as a read-aloud with a 7yo, two tweens, and a teen. It’s already a great bedtime story!

Apparently in a phase of reading books that take place on a farm and also written by authors with variants of “Claire” in their names

I’m afraid to go to sleep and this is a KIDS BOOK?! (It’s probably more the case that I’m a wimp…)

Started the audiobook on the way home and if this does not continue on its current 5-star trajectory I am going to be distraught.

I’m very uncomfortable and also have no idea what is going on.

I have a bad feeling about this…

Listening to this one, and my oldest is asking to listen along every evening. And morning. And dinner time. 😂

Reading this out loud to my youngest! It’s been on our shelf forever.

Ignorance was bliss. I already knew these tech billionaires were wackadoodle; I don’t need to know precisely how awful and vindictive they are.

For the first time (hopefully not the last!) I’m needing to share a book with my son because we’re both reading it.

2/3 through, and the author does an incredible job of explaining “these terrible things are happening and I need to leave, but I can’t because pregnancy/infancy/citizenship/healthcare…”

Truly a fascinating look at how capitalistic/political forces ruined both Facebook and also the working lives of those in the US.

I bet this is a hit with Women Of A Certain Age.

Ironic that I just finished a Stephen King book, move onto this one, and discover he wrote a blurb for the cover. He’s a former mill worker!

Ahhhhhhh I can’t put this down. The perfect amount of breadcrumbs to keep me on my toes with where this is going next.

It’s 11:08pm, I’m getting over a cold, I *know* how this story ends, and yet…I cannot put this book down!!!

A multi-POV novel centered around a family and a surprise pregnancy? Hmm, why does that sound familiar? (Ignore the sarcasm, definitely fully onboard with Ann Napolitano using this same premise as many times as she needs!)

Elena just read a letter from her friend Lina and spends 2 paragraphs on how Lina’s writing is effortless and jumps off the page, and how Elena is a fraud because even with more education her writing is terrible.

….I agree wholeheartedly, and unfortunately, Lina is not the narrator of this book. :/

Loved this first pick for my Cousins Book Club! If you like multi-POV novels about family (specifically sisterhood), this is excellent.
