Ignorance was bliss. I already knew these tech billionaires were wackadoodle; I don’t need to know precisely how awful and vindictive they are.

For the first time (hopefully not the last!) I’m needing to share a book with my son because we’re both reading it.

2/3 through, and the author does an incredible job of explaining “these terrible things are happening and I need to leave, but I can’t because pregnancy/infancy/citizenship/healthcare…”

Truly a fascinating look at how capitalistic/political forces ruined both Facebook and also the working lives of those in the US.

FINAL book of my Powell’s summer reading challenge - using this as my “how to book” entry!

I bet this is a hit with Women Of A Certain Age.

Ironic that I just finished a Stephen King book, move onto this one, and discover he wrote a blurb for the cover. He’s a former mill worker!

Ahhhhhhh I can’t put this down. The perfect amount of breadcrumbs to keep me on my toes with where this is going next.

It’s 11:08pm, I’m getting over a cold, I *know* how this story ends, and yet…I cannot put this book down!!!

A multi-POV novel centered around a family and a surprise pregnancy? Hmm, why does that sound familiar? (Ignore the sarcasm, definitely fully onboard with Ann Napolitano using this same premise as many times as she needs!)

Elena just read a letter from her friend Lina and spends 2 paragraphs on how Lina’s writing is effortless and jumps off the page, and how Elena is a fraud because even with more education her writing is terrible.

….I agree wholeheartedly, and unfortunately, Lina is not the narrator of this book. :/

Loved this first pick for my Cousins Book Club! If you like multi-POV novels about family (specifically sisterhood), this is excellent.

Listening to the audiobook and loving it more than I expected. Also discovering my brain retained way more of The Odyssey than I expected.

Favorite chapters are consistently from the POV of Penelope, Odysseus’ wife. As the years pass, and he picks up every side quest, her letters devolve into, essentially, “what the f**k, Odysseus.”
