I enjoy the idea of this book, but I love fantasy, sci-fi, and horror.

A few problems: I’ve read that Sybil herself admitted that she made up her multiple personalities. Second, the author uses tons of examples of criminals hearing voices as proof of possessions, but never includes cases where they didn’t hear voices. Third, we do not want to bring back exorcism as the treatment for mental illness.

Giving this series another try since I’m on a Dresden show kick. I was not impressed the first time around, but for some reason it’s better this time through.

Good book for drawing manga. Just the right amount steps per drawing. No huge jumps in detail. I’m not interested in some of the characters, but you may be.

It’s been a while since I read something by Brandon Sanderson. I had forgotten just how brilliant this man’s writing actually is. Or, I thought Mistborn was a one off. But no. This guy is the real deal. I think I need to just drop everything and read all his books. But book club...

Starts off great, right from the first page. Interesting world and interesting characters.

This book is exhausting. SoT is a slog. The mystery of S moves so slowly. The romance of Jen and Eric is moving slowly too. I can’t follow the code breaking. The whole thing is disjointed. It’s an exhausting read. Don’t get me wrong, I like it. I think it is good. It is a truly unique experience. I think it’s supposed to be disjointed. It can’t be any other way given what it is.

Picked this up again. It’s been a year. It requires a lot of focus. I’m not that interested in SoT. Love reading about Jen and Eric. Who is Straka is kind of interesting, but I’m sure I’m missing a lot. I’m reading marginalia, ephemera and SoT all at once. At the moment, I’m reading one two-page spread at a time. SoT first, then margins. I’m doing ok, but it requires focus.
