This section of the book is incredibly emotionally difficult. I cried while reading these chapters as I recall the time when I came out.

It’s actually insane how similar some of these experiences are to things I’ve been through as a former member of the same faith. There are moments in this book that are like reading a memory.

I, too, struggle with staying off dairy.

Covers some heavy topics in the first 40 pages. I’m reminded so much of my own childhood through David’s recollections.

It’s been well over a decade since I last read this book and I picked it up last night just on a whim (that whim being I recommended it to a friend who then actually wrote it down to look into, so now I have to actually reread it to make sure it holds up😅) and I’m happy to say that it holds up wonderfully! Hilarious and sardonic, beautifully written. I read this and it flows as easy as cinema. I love it.

Just finished the 5th chapter in part 1 and I’m stunned. The writing is so good.

Really well written. Building slowly and with great tension. I’m so intrigued to see where this is going. Every couple of pages or so gives me the chills.

I deeply dislike this book and feel like it is ableist.

The tone is really well done. Super uncanny feeling. I just finished a scene in a diner that has me absolutely unnerved. I can feel that it’s slowly building up to something.
