I saw this book recommended in a tiktok and it sounded interesting so I started it and this book is hitting so close to home. The author's experiences of being mixed Japanese and white and wanting to be American and being ashamed of her mother's accent IS MAKING ME CRY. This book is bringing back memories from my childhood that I forgot about my own relationship w/my mother. it's a painfully relatable and good read
