The amount of nickname usage in ES’s books drives me up a wall. I’m convinced the mmc just doesn’t actually know the fmc’s name. “Wildflower” is used 72 times. This is turning into a pet peeve of mine.

This book is at once both an insightful story of the experience of being a teenage girl in the Midwest and also a reminder of the mortification of being fifteen.

I’m already hooked omg

I’m simply a girl in search of a book with a Gale from BG3-coded love interest. That’s all.

Idk maybe I’m in the wrong mood for this but I’m not loving the start.

And I’m a-hoping for Raleigh, I can see my baby tonight 🎶

4.25 stars. This is exactly what I wanted out of a Good For Her book, it was very Promising Young Woman coded and I could never mean that in a bad way. The catharsis of seeing horribly evil men get their comeuppance is *chefs kiss*

Very Promising Young Woman coded

I hate this so much

This book makes me so viscerally angry (like it’s supposed to)

OH MY GOD

I don’t know how this book is so highly rated, this guy is a massive misogynistic prick.

Okay I waited to check this book out from the library and told myself to give it the benefit of the doubt (even though I was pretty sure it didn’t deserve it). And I’m fully convinced this is published Hozier fanfic. Like there’s no room for doubt at all in any of her descriptions. This isn’t just that she used his likeness, she used his whole goddamn life, overly romanticized it, and published it. Gross.

Very skeptical of this book

Hashtags in the prose of a book written in 2025??? Mmm I don’t know about that choice

This is so good, wild I put off reading it for so long

I really liked this first but honestly it should’ve been shorter.

I don’t know why I put off reading this for so long, it’s an absolute delight. I love the characters, and the setting and descriptions are so cozy and warm.

This is a very challenging read but it’s really grown on me.

Chapter 6 was a very poignant read with the ICE occupation in Minneapolis happening right now.
